GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE:7 years working with the Department of Education Transportation Department; Chairperson to Citizens Advisory Committee for HWY 199; Served on the financial board of a local church; Certified inventor with US Navy.

Born and raised native Oregonian. Graduated high school spent more than 8 years US Navy. Married with five children. Embraced a can-do approach to problems that enabled me to accomplish tasks and discover solutions that were categorized as impossible. This characteristic led me to be handpicked and to be dispatched to save a stranded Submarine near the North Pole. During my naval career I searched for cost savings procedures that saved taxpayers many millions of dollars.

In my first year managing transportation for Laidlaw here, taxpayers realized hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings in transportation costs. Every regular school bus was outfitted with video/audio equipment that has made children safer and has paid for itself many times over in reduced labor costs.

Teamwork is the cornerstone of my approach. Together, you and I with the rest of our county government can unite to save us tax dollars and re-establish a sound financial county. I support personal property rights and responsible use of our forests. Working in government, I have learned there is almost always inefficient use of tax dollars. With the application of common sense and teamwork, we can still make an effort to balance our county budget.
